Botanical name: Limnanthas alba  

White meadowfoam  

  

Family  Limnanthaceae  

  

Botany 

Grows in California, Oregon and Canada.  

Researched in the 1950's to be a biodegradable option to vegetable and sperm whale oil.  

Grows in very wet soil.  

 Meadowfoam seeds contain 20-30% oil.  

The oil is over 98% long chain fatty acids.   

Highly stable, resistant to oxidation and heat.  

Similar to jojoba oil in composition.   


Therapeutic actions 

Anti-aging: slows the aging process

Anti-cancer : prevents cellular mutations

Anti-oxidants  

Anti-inflammatory: alleviate inflammation throughout the body

Photo-protective
