An agent that prevents tissue degeneration and promotes healing of wounds. 

How do vulneraries work? 

Vulneraries may work due to the presence of tannin, which produces a protective layer that allows the cells underneath to heal. It may be a mucilage to soothe internal ulcers. Or may contain allantoin which stimulates cell growth and division.

• Alum (Heuchera Americana) 

• Arnica (Arnica montana)  

• Anise (Pimpinella anisum)

• Bergamot (Citrus bergamia)

• Calendula (Calendula officinalis)

• Chamomile, Roman (Chamaemelum nobile)

• Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) 

• Comfrey (Symphytum officinale)

• Echinacea (Echinacea spp)

• Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) 

• Frankincense (Boswellia carterii)

• Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica)

• Lavender (Lavandula augustifolia)

• Marigold (Tagetes patula)

• Marjoram (Origanum majorana)

• Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis)

• Mullein (verbascum thapsus)
