Botanical name:  Hippophae rhamnoides  

Other species of sea buckthorn include:

 Other names: hindi- Dhurchuk. Chinese- Sha ja

Family  Elaeagnaceae, the oleaster family.

  

Botany  

Sea Buckthorn is a shrub native to the temperate regions of Asia and Europe. The herb is used in the practice of ancient Asian and Russian medicine and is a popular ingredient in cosmetics.  

The oil is extracted from the orange fruit and seeds of the plant, producing a right orange-red oil packed with antioxidants. The fruit oil is dark in color but the seed oil is a pale yellow color.  

The sea buckthorn oil use in Mercurial Consciousness products is cold-pressed from the entire fruit, including the seed and pulp oil.
